Tampa Landscape Design outdoor rooms: pergola, fireplace, parterre

This client has a contemporary style house in Westchase, Tampa and wanted to upgrade the home to accommodate their extensive outdoor entertaining. Their existing design made them feel claustrophobic and they wanted a sense of space with an "old English library" feel.

Tampa Landscape Design divided the space into a dining space and a masculine living room space. The arbor uses thick hewn rafters and a raised teak deck. The living area has a fireplace and mortared flagstone flooring. Both areas are tied together with a meandering waterfall. Masculine plants and trees with a strong structure set the tone and created organic walls for privacy.

The north side of the property was underutilized, so we added a privacy screen of flowering shrubs and trees, and an informal stepping stone patio. Both areas are tied together with a formal, flower parterre.

Tampa Landscape Design considers desired style elements, sight lines, functional use, traffic flow and maximizing existing structures.
