Dividing landscapes into outdoor rooms is a long-standing tradition in Europe. On many estates there are Rose Gardens, Water Gardens, Natural Landscapes, Italian Gardens, Landscaped Hedge Mazes, Asian Landscapes, Meditation Gardens and Herb Gardens all next to each other on one property.

This client wanted a relaxed, privacy style in the front and a modern landscape design for the back. We grouped tall plants and trees to create a privacy hedge, and low, colorful flowers in front of the bungalow. In the back, we selected plants that naturally grew in geometric shapes, and designed structures, like the walks, pergola, deck and outdoor kitchen using triangles, squares and circles. We used red flowering plants as an accent color and sea oats for interest.
