Eco-friendly landscape design techniques include:

    * Plant diversity to support diverse wildlife.

    * Rain sensors on irrigation systems.

    * Micro-irrigation for all beds

    * Re-using or reclaiming materials like brick, block and wood.

    * Planting trees for the purpose of providing shade, thus reducing cooling costs.

    * Planting or building windbreaks to slow winds near buildings to prevent heat loss.

    * Wall sheltering, where shrubbery or vines are used to create a windbreak directly against a wall.

    * Water-recovery cisterns and run-off management

    * Handling all rain water on-site by lowering the grade below paving.

    * Green roofs that cool buildings with extra thermal mass and evapo-transpiration.

    * Reducing the heat island effect with pervious paving, adding shade, and minimizing hardscapes.

    * Site lighting with full cut off fixtures, light level sensors, and high efficiency fixtures.

Energy-efficient landscaping techniques also include using local plants and materials, on-site composting and chipping to reduce green-waste hauling, hand tools instead of gasoline-powered, and planting a victory vegetable garden.

Xeriscape, Native &

Drough Tolerant Landscapes

Tampa Landscape Design's water-wise landscapes can be flowery cottage gardens. Luscious tropical landscaping  to ultra-modern designs.  A grass-filled native meadow conjures memories of a childhood spent running wild through the fields.  Regardless of the style, the goal is the same--to be good to the Florida environment.

To give the landscape more visual interest, add a butterfly garden, fountain, seating area and arbor/pergola.
