This north Tampa client wanted to update his pool area. Tampa Landscape Design divided the big open space into "outdoor rooms." We began by tearing out the old deck and installing a ledge-stone octagonal spa next to the pool, and renovated the pool coping.

A gas ring brick fire pit was added near the seating area, and a rose planter and brick steps were added the to lanai's rear exit.

New concrete paths were built and tiled with natural slate, while the flower beds were filled with luscious tropical plants.

Since excessive run-off often made the side yard too muddy to walk without boots, we added a retaining wall path that stepped down to the back conservation area, and planted a cascading plant that will eventually cover the wall.
