Native Xeriscape Drought-Tolerant Landscape |

This South Tampa client wanted to use only Florida native plants so he could avoid the cost of irrigation and because it was the best for the Florida environment. We started with the paver hardscape and pulled all the old, tired plants. Over the years, the grade had built up above the sidewalk level and water was running off into the severely flood-prone South Tampa street. We lowered the grade about 6" and now the home handles all its own stormwater on-site. They no longer contribute to the street flooding. We tiled the front steps with classic Mexican saltillo tile. The native landscaping was then showcased by a sophisticated, yet subtle lighting system. A year later John said: "We still love our landscaping! The bahia turf looks amazing considering we have no irrigation system! And my Royal Palms look spectacular." |
